Hyderabad: G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Tourism, Culture, and DoNER, inaugurated a laser-based light and sound show titled ‘The Kohinoor Story’ at Sanjeevaiah Park today. The show, which includes a water screen and musical fountain on the waves of Hussain Sagar, is set to become a captivating addition to the tourism landscape of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
The Light and Sound Show unfolds the fascinating journey of the world-renowned diamond, the ‘Kohinoor,’ which originated from the rich soils of Telangana. Mined from this region, the Kohinoor has traversed cultures and continents, making its story a remarkable one. Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy initiated this project to shed light on the historical significance of the Kohinoor and to bring its story to the public domain.
The script for ‘The Kohinoor Story’ was crafted by SS Kanchi under the supervision of S. Vijayendra Prasad, MP Rajyasaba. Unlike traditional light and sound shows at historical sites, this innovative project is set on the waves of Hussain Sagar, using a series of fountains that transform into a screen. The aqua screen projection mapping, accompanied by a synchronized fountain show, presents a colourful video image narrating the Kohinoor’s story, Telangana’s history, and the cultural heritage of the nation.
This unique approach aims to enhance tourist attractions by creatively showcasing the area’s history through audio-visual media. The project features a well-planned seating arrangement for tourists, signages, pathways, and public utilities to ensure a seamless experience. The narration of the story is brought to life by popular singer Sunita, with the musical composition by Vandematram Srinivas. The multipurpose gallery in Sanjeevaiah Park, inaugurated alongside the light and sound show, adds to the overall tourist experience, making it a must-visit destination for locals and visitors alike.
