Bhubaneswar-Balangir-Sonepur Express Extended for Enhanced Connectivity

Sonepur: Taking a step further for the development for rail connectivity in Odisha, the Bhubaneswar-Balangir-Bhubaneswar Express has been extended up to Sonepur, catering to the aspirations of the local population. The extension of the train line to Sonepur was inaugurated by Sangita Kumari Singhdeo, MP, who flagged off the inaugural run from Sonepur Railway Station.

The 12893 Bhubaneswar-Balangir-Sonepur Super Fast Express will now run from Bhubaneswar to Sonepur, enhancing the connectivity between these key destinations. After reaching Balangir, the train will proceed to Sonepur, reaching its destination at 15:15 hrs. In the return direction, the 12894 Sonepur-Bhubaneswar Super Fast Express will depart from Sonepur at 13:00 hrs, reaching Balangir at 14:25 hrs. From Balangir, it will then proceed to Bhubaneswar, reaching its final destination at 21:45 hrs.

The regular service of this extended route will commence from Sonepur on March 14, 2024, and from Bhubaneswar on March 15, 2024. The train schedule and stoppages between Bhubaneswar and Balangir will remain unchanged in both directions. However, between Balangir and Sonepur, the train will make stops at Bichhupali, Jhartarbha, and Narsingh Garh Railway Stations.
