PM Modi Inaugurates Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the World’s Second Largest Automotive Expo

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, marking a historic moment for India’s mobility sector. The event witnessed a vibrant gathering of industry leaders, global innovators, policymakers, and representatives from the mobility ecosystem.

During the inaugural address, the Prime Minister lauded the contributions of automotive visionaries Ratan Tata and Osamu Suzuki, whose legacies continue to inspire the sector. “Their contributions have laid a strong foundation for the future of mobility,” he said.

Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Piyush Goyal highlighted the expo’s milestone achievement, noting that it has become the second-largest automotive event globally. He expressed confidence that the Bharat Mobility Expo would emerge as the world’s largest auto show by next year.

“This expo unites the entire mobility value chain, from automobiles to components, under one roof,” said Goyal. “It is a dynamic platform for fostering global partnerships, driving innovation, and showcasing India’s potential as a global hub for mobility solutions.”

The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 spans three premier venues – Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Yashobhoomi in Dwarka, and the India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida, covering over 2 lakh square meters. Goyal attributed this expansion to Prime Minister Modi’s vision of transforming India into a leading destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE).

Goyal underscored the vital role of the mobility sector in achieving the nation’s vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047. He highlighted India’s top rankings in manufacturing three-wheelers, tractors, and two-wheelers globally and its increasing share in the global mobility supply chain.

Innovation and sustainability are key themes of the expo, with a significant focus on electric vehicles (EVs). The Minister noted that EV adoption among first-time buyers is crucial for reducing pollution, conserving foreign exchange, and enhancing the mobility ecosystem.

The government is also prioritizing advancements in battery technology and vehicle design to support the EV revolution.

The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 is an industry-led, government-supported initiative coordinated by the Engineering Export Promotion Council India (EEPC India). It has the backing of key industry bodies and organizations, including SIAM, ACMA, NASSCOM, and Invest India.

The event, running from January 17 to 22, aims to showcase India’s mobility innovations, attract investments, and boost trade. It is expected to catalyze collaborations that will drive economic growth and improve ease of living for citizens.
