Bargarh: In a major stride towards comprehensive development, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik visited Bargarh on Tuesday, inaugurating 62 developmental projects worth Rs 2149 crore and laying the foundation stone for 21 additional projects valued at Rs 263.33 crore. The dynamic initiatives encompass diverse sectors, including healthcare, infrastructure, education, and public welfare.
Among the key projects unveiled, the Gangadhar Meher Irrigation Project, completed at a cost of Rs 1677.42 crore, promises to enhance agricultural capabilities by supplying water to over 60,000 acres of land in the Sohela, Bijepur, Barpali, and Dunguripali blocks. Additionally, a state-of-the-art five-storied 100-bedded cancer treatment center, constructed at Rs 106.6 crore, aims to bolster healthcare facilities in the region.
The Chief Minister also laid emphasis on transforming educational and healthcare institutions, converting 37 high schools into modern educational systems, and establishing five ‘Ama Hospitals.’ Furthermore, the Lakshmi Bus Yojana facilitated the construction of 262 bus stops, enhancing connectivity in rural areas. The Chief Minister’s special assistance program witnessed the transformation of 431 Kalyan Mandaps, community centers, and religious places.
Expressing gratitude to the weavers and artists of Bargarh, Chief Minister Patnaik announced an increase in pensions for these artisans, acknowledging their crucial role in enriching Odisha’s cultural heritage. The initiatives align with the state government’s 5T initiative, focusing on transformation, transparency, teamwork, technology, and time.
Patnaik highlighted the success of the Biju Health Welfare Yojana, Lakshmi Bus Yojana, and major irrigation projects, emphasizing Odisha’s contribution to national food supply through an efficient public distribution system. The Chief Minister underscored the growing prominence of Odisha in sports, lauding badminton star Pramod Bhagat for his notable achievements.
The comprehensive development projects unveiled in Bargarh reflect the commitment of the state government to uplift rural communities, ensure healthcare accessibility, and provide modern educational infrastructure. With the implementation of interest-free loans for farmers, support for Mission Shakti members, and enhanced scholarships for college students, Chief Minister Patnaik affirmed his vision for a progressive and inclusive Odisha.*
