Nepal’s Kami Rita Sherpa Sets New Record with 29th Everest Ascent

Kathmandu: Nepal’s legendary mountaineer Kami Rita Sherpa has etched his name in history once again by breaking his own record for the highest number of ascents of Mt. Everest, scaling the world’s highest peak for an unprecedented 29th time.

The 54-year-old veteran climber achieved this remarkable feat at 7:25 am local time on Sunday, reaching the towering summit of the 8,849-metre peak, as confirmed by Rakesh Gurung, director at the Tourism Department in the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation. The expedition was meticulously organized by Seven Summit Treks and comprised a team of 20 climbers. They successfully conquered Everest on Sunday morning, as stated by Thani Guragain, a senior staff at the Seven Summit Treks.

The Seven Summit Treks, in a statement, announced that at least 20 climbers, including Kami, made a triumphant ascent of Mt. Everest on Sunday morning. Among the climbing members were adventurers from countries such as the USA, Canada, Kazakhstan, and thirteen climbers from Nepal.
