Gurgaon: Shunya Agritech has launched FodrPulse, a free mobile application designed to help hydroponic fodder growers manage cultivation, monitor fodder quality and address common crop-related problems using digital tools and artificial intelligence.
Launched on September 16, the app brings together growing protocols, image-based fodder assessment, AI-assisted guidance and pest and fungal management in a single platform. Shunya said the application was developed from its research partnership with ICAR-Indian Institute of Maize Research (IIMR) and growing data generated at its own Growth & Logistics Centres.
The platform has four key components. FodrVidhi provides step-by-step guidance covering the hydroponic fodder growing process, while FodrDrishti analyses fodder quality through photographs taken at different stages, from grain to the finished fodder mat.
FodrIQ uses AI trained on Shunya’s own cultivation protocols to answer questions from growers. The fourth component, FodrShield, focuses on managing pests and fungal infestations through proprietary formulations that the company says are safe for cattle and humans.
Shunya has made FodrPulse free to use and said the app is available for download through the Play Store and App Store. The company aims to make its field-based knowledge accessible to hydroponic fodder growers without requiring them to learn through repeated trial and error.
“Livestock nutrition breaks down when fodder quality is inconsistent and that hits milk yield and farmer income directly,” said Vijay Singh, CEO and MD of Shunya Agritech. “FodrPulse hands hydroponic fodder units across the world, the field learning we’ve built up, for free, so they don’t have to learn the hard way.”
The application has been developed from Shunya’s own experience of operating hydroponic fodder systems. The company said it has been growing fodder hydroponically for the past 24 months and used questions and challenges encountered by its operators to shape the platform.
“We have been growing fodder hydroponically for the last 24 months now. We built FodrPulse around the questions our operators actually face, not the ones we assumed they’d ask,” said Ritesh Raj Gupta, CTO of Shunya Agritech.
He added that FodrIQ and FodrDrishti are based on Shunya’s cultivation protocols and crop photographs collected from its production racks, allowing growers to receive guidance based on the company’s operational experience.
FodrPulse was launched by Dr Radhey Shyam Dixit, Founder and Chairman of Ananda Dairy, alongside Vijay Singh and the Shunya Agritech team. The launch also marked a deeper collaboration between Shunya Agritech and Ananda Dairy.
