Ekamra Utsav Food Festival: A Culinary Extravaganza in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Ekamra Utsav Food Festival has emerged as the centerpiece of celebrations in Bhubaneswar, offering a gourmet experience that bridges the gap between fine dining and affordability. Food enthusiasts from across Odisha are flocking to the festival to savor an extensive range of cuisines, from local Odia specialties to international delicacies, all at pocket-friendly prices.

Renowned hotels, cafes, and restaurants have set up stalls showcasing a vibrant menu. Visitors can indulge in non-vegetarian delights like Chingudi Chop, Chicken Lollipop, Mutton Chop, Hilsa Fish Jhal, Tandoor Pomfret, and the exotic Bamboo Biriyani. Vegetarians are equally spoiled for choice with dishes such as Lasooni Paneer, Hyderabadi Biriyani, Chole Bhature, and Paneer Kurkure. Dessert lovers are treated to local favorites like Baked Rasagola, Malpua, and Rasmalai, complemented by refreshing beverages like Masala Tea, Mocktails, and Fresh Lime Soda.

The food festival also highlights Odisha’s rich culinary heritage with offerings like Baripada Mudhi Mutton, Chakuli Pitha with Mutton Curry, and the iconic Pahala Rasagola. “While visitors enjoy the starter items, it’s the traditional dishes that have truly stolen the spotlight,” said Ganeswar Sethi, a representative from a popular restaurant stall.

Adding to the charm, food trucks provide quick, flavorful bites, catering to the diverse palates of festival-goers.

The Ekamra Utsav Food Festival is more than just a gastronomic journey. Every evening, cultural programs featuring celebrated artists captivate audiences, while the Flea Market offers handcrafted ornaments and homemade items, creating a vibrant bazaar atmosphere.

“The festival brings dishes from top restaurants at affordable prices, making it a perfect outing to enjoy delicious food with family and friends,” shared Subasish Barik, a visitor.

Organized as a part of the larger Ekamra Utsav celebrations coinciding with Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, the food festival is just one among many attractions. Other events include the Park Utsav, hosted across five BDA parks, and the popular Ekamra Walks. The city itself is adorned with stunning decorations, enhancing the festive ambiance.

The Ekamra Utsav Food Festival runs daily until January 16, offering residents and tourists alike an unforgettable blend of flavors, culture, and festivity.
