Amit Shah Highlights Achievements of Modi Government’s First 100 Days in Third Term

New Delhi: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, today addressed a press conference in New Delhi, showcasing the significant achievements and milestones of the first 100 days of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s third term. Shah released a special booklet titled “Paving the Path to Viksit Bharat”, alongside eight detailed flyers, highlighting the key accomplishments of the government. Union Minister of Information & Broadcasting, Railways, and Electronics & IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw, was also present.

During his address, Shah extended his heartfelt birthday wishes to Prime Minister Modi, lauding his journey from humble beginnings to becoming one of the world’s most celebrated leaders. He noted, “Prime Minister Modi, who emerged from a poor family, now holds the highest honors from 15 different countries, reflecting not just his stature but the pride of India.”

Modi’s Third Term: A New Milestone in Stability and Growth

Shah underscored that for the first time in 60 years, India is experiencing unprecedented political stability, with a leader serving as Prime Minister for a third consecutive term. He emphasized the continued commitment to national security, development, and welfare of the underprivileged, marking this period as a “wonderful coordination of development and poor welfare.”

He credited the government for maintaining “the speed and accuracy” of policy implementation over the last decade. “Ensuring that policies deliver as expected while maintaining momentum is a great achievement,” said the Home Minister.

Security, Education, and Economic Growth as Pillars of Success

A key focus of Shah’s remarks was the government’s success in enhancing both external and internal security. He highlighted the significant improvements in India’s defense systems and foreign policy under Prime Minister Modi. “For the first time since independence, we have a robust foreign policy, and India has become the world’s most preferred destination for production activities,” he said.

He also lauded the new National Education Policy, which integrates India’s ancient educational values with modern learning systems, ensuring India’s youth are equipped for global competition. Shah further stated, “India’s bright future is also seen in the field of space,” referencing the recent successes in the country’s space program.

Economic Initiatives: A Focus on Farmers and Infrastructure

Highlighting the economic progress, Shah spoke of the government’s focus on the agricultural sector. Over ₹20,000 crore has been distributed to 9.5 crore farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana in the last 100 days, with ₹3 lakh crore having been distributed in total since the scheme’s inception.

He also noted the expansion of India’s infrastructure, with projects worth ₹3 lakh crore launched in 100 days, including the development of a mega port in Vadhavan, Maharashtra, set to be among the world’s top 10 ports.

Relief for the Middle Class and Empowerment of Youth

In a major relief for the middle class, the Modi government increased the Mudra loan limit to ₹20 lakh and abolished the angel tax on startups, promoting entrepreneurship and innovation. Shri Shah also discussed the third phase of One Rank One Pension (OROP) and the increased tax-free income limit to ₹7 lakh. He added that solar energy projects under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme have now reached over 2.5 lakh households.

The Home Minister also spoke on empowering the youth, with a ₹2 lakh crore package benefiting 4.1 crore young Indians over the next five years. Internship opportunities, job placements, and financial support for startups are part of this initiative.

Women Empowerment and Tribal Development

The first 100 days also saw significant progress in empowering women and tribals. Under the Lakhpati Didi Yojana, over 11 lakh women have become ‘Lakhpati Didis’, earning ₹1 lakh annually. Additionally, the Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan aims to develop 63,000 tribal villages, uplifting the livelihoods of 5 crore tribal people.
