Paris: Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat secured a thrilling 7-5 victory over Ukraine’s Oksana Livach in the women’s 50kg freestyle quarter-final, advancing to the semi-finals at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Competing in her third Olympic Games, Phogat is now just one win away from securing a confirmed medal at the Summer Games. Earlier today, she achieved a remarkable win against Tokyo 2020 champion Yui Susaki of Japan in the round of 16, setting the stage for her quarter-final triumph.

Vinesh Phogat is set to face either Cuba’s Yusneylis Guzman Lopez or Lithuania’s Gabija Dilyte in the semi-finals, which will take place today at 10:25 PM IST at the Champ-de-Mars Arena.

Score: Vinesh Phogat (IND) beat Oksana Livach (UKR) 7-5 in the women’s 50kg freestyle quarter-final wrestling match.
