Vikrant Massey Announces Retirement from Acting, Plans to Step Back After 2025

Mumbai: Actor Vikrant Massey, known for his versatile performances and critically acclaimed roles, has announced his decision to retire from acting at the age of 37. The actor, currently enjoying the success of his latest film The Sabarmati Report, shared the unexpected news on Instagram, leaving fans and industry peers surprised.

In his heartfelt note, Vikrant wrote, “The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realize it’s time to recalibrate and go back home—as a husband, father, and son, and also as an actor.”

Vikrant revealed that 2025 would mark his final year in acting. “So, coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right. Last 2 movies and many years of memories. Thank you again. For everything and everything in between. Forever indebted,” he added in his message.

The actor, who will next be seen in Zero Se Restart, is also working on two upcoming projects, Yaar Jigri and Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, which will likely be among his final films.

Vikrant Massey began his acting journey in 2007 with the TV series Dhoom Machaao Dhoom and went on to feature in popular shows like Dharam Veer, Qubool Hai, and Balika Vadhu. He transitioned to films in 2013 with Lootera, starring alongside Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha.

Over the years, Vikrant carved a niche for himself with memorable roles in films such as Dil Dhadakne Do, Half Girlfriend, A Death In The Gunj, Chhapaak, Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare, Haseen Dillruba, and Love Hostel. His portrayal of Manoj Kumar Sharma in the 2023 biographical drama 12th Fail became a sleeper hit and marked a turning point in his career.

Beyond his professional achievements, Vikrant has embraced significant personal milestones. He married actress Sheetal Thakur in 2022 after meeting her on the sets of Broken and Beautiful. In February 2024, the couple welcomed their first child, a son. Announcing the news on Instagram, Vikrant shared, “For we have become one. We are bursting with joy and love to announce the arrival of our son. Love, Sheetal and Vikrant.”

The announcement of his retirement has left fans emotional but supportive. Many have expressed their gratitude for his contributions to the industry and are eagerly anticipating his final projects.
