Vice-President Encourages Nalanda University Students to Champion Peace, Progress, and Sustainable Development

New Delhi:   A delegation of students from Nalanda University, representing 11 countries alongside India, had an insightful interaction with the Vice-President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, at the Parliament House today. The Vice-President, extending an invitation during his earlier visit to Nalanda University, welcomed the diverse delegation, which included students from Bhutan, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Myanmar, Laos, Nepal, Argentina, Kenya, Thailand, and Uganda.

Recalling his visit to Nalanda University on September 29, 2023, Shri Dhankhar reminisced about the historical significance of the institution during his maiden visit to the state of Bihar. During that visit, he emphasized the powerful brand that Nalanda represents and urged students to carry forward its legacy to greater heights.

Accompanying the 23-member student delegation were three faculty members of Nalanda University: Dr. B.C. Ambika Prasad Pani, Dr. Pooja Dabral, and Dr. Tosabanta Padhan.

In his interaction with the students at the Parliament House, the Vice-President emphasized their role as trustees of peace, progress, and sustainable development. He highlighted the enduring contributions of Indian civilizational ethos and encouraged the students to draw inspiration from these timeless values.

The diverse representation of students from various countries signifies Nalanda University’s commitment to fostering a global learning environment.
