
Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal Lays Foundation Stone for Ayush Diksha Centre in Bhubaneswar (PIB)
Bhubaneswar: The Union Minister of Ayush and Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, laid the foundation stone for ‘Ayush Diksha,’ a groundbreaking centre dedicated to the development of human resources for future Ayush professionals. This state-of-the-art facility will be situated within the campus of the Central Ayurveda Research Institute in Bhubaneswar.
In his address at the event, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal emphasized the significant growth of the Ayush movement in the past decade. He highlighted the nation’s move towards an integrated medicine approach, where an empowered Ayush system of medicine collaborates with modern medicine. The Ayush Diksha centre, as envisioned by the Minister, will empower Ayush professionals to enhance their skills, providing world-class patient care services to the people of the country. He expressed confidence that the centre would act as a catalyst for the Ayush movement, contributing to the global shift towards a healthier and happier life experience.
The institution is set to offer training programs for Ayush professionals, with a specific focus on Ayurveda. It aims to collaborate with prominent national institutes to enhance capacity, strengthen human resources, facilitate research and development, and achieve self-sustainability. The Ayush Diksha centre, with a budget of ₹30 crores, will feature state-of-the-art facilities, including two auditoriums, 40 modern rooms, VIP suites, a natural library, discussion rooms, a modular kitchen, and a dining lounge.
The event was graced by the presence of Aparajita Sarangi, the Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) for Bhubaneswar, and Prof Vaidya Rabinarayan Acharya, the Director General of CCRAS, among other senior officials from the Ministry of Ayush. The Central Ayurveda Research Institute in Bhubaneswar, a unit under the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), represents a significant stride in advancing scientific research in Ayurveda. The Ayush Diksha centre marks a pivotal initiative to promote research and development in the field, aligning with the government’s commitment to holistic healthcare practices.
