New Delhi: Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has given the nod for an allocation of Rs. 2,248.94 crore to advance the construction of the Lada-Sarli section of NH-913, commonly known as the Frontier Highway, in Arunachal Pradesh. This ambitious undertaking encompasses a substantial stretch of 105.59 km, spanned across Packages 1, 2, 3, and 6, and is to be implemented under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode.
In a social media announcement, Minister Gadkari outlined the pivotal role this project is expected to play in establishing a swift and robust communication network for security forces. Beyond its security implications, he highlighted the broader impact on the region’s economy, anticipating a boost in reverse migration towards the vibrant border areas. Additionally, the project aims to lay down essential road infrastructure that connects crucial river basins, paving the way for the development of numerous hydropower projects in the state.
Gadkari underscored the multifaceted benefits of this greenfield road, emphasizing its potential to spur tourism in the sparsely populated areas of Upper Arunachal. He anticipates increased traffic in the future, positioning the project as a catalyst for economic growth and connectivity in the region.
