Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya Launches “eShram – One Stop Solution” to Simplify Access to Welfare Schemes for Unorganised Workers

New Delhi: Union Minister for Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, launched the “eShram – One Stop Solution” in the capital today. The platform aims to provide seamless access to various social security schemes for unorganised workers registered on the eShram portal. Union Minister of State for Labour & Employment, Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, and senior officials of the Ministry of Labour & Employment were also present at the event.

Speaking at the launch, Dr. Mandaviya highlighted the growing confidence in the eShram platform, stating that between 60,000 to 90,000 workers join the portal daily. “The eShram – One Stop Solution will make it easier for unorganised workers to register and connect with the numerous benefits offered by the government,” he said, stressing the importance of simplifying the process to enable broader access to welfare schemes.

He urged all unorganised workers to register on the eShram portal to take advantage of various government initiatives designed to improve their livelihoods. “By joining the platform, workers will gain access to a wide range of social security and welfare programs, ensuring their well-being and securing their future,” Dr. Mandaviya added.

Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, Union Minister of State for Labour & Employment, emphasized the integration of state government portals with eShram to ensure last-mile connectivity. She noted that this initiative would help identify and include left-out potential beneficiaries at the state and district levels, ensuring full coverage of welfare schemes.

The “One Stop Solution” initiative consolidates and integrates data from various central ministries and departments into a single repository, following a recent Budget announcement and the Ministry of Labour and Employment’s 100-day agenda. Several key welfare schemes, such as One Nation One Ration Card, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), National Social Assistance Programme, National Career Service, and Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan, have already been integrated with eShram, with more schemes set to join.

Sumita Dawra, Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, explained that the eShram One Stop Solution will act as a facilitator, providing easy access to government schemes for unorganised workers. She added that efforts to integrate additional social security and welfare schemes with the platform are ongoing.

Since its launch on August 26, 2021, the eShram portal has registered over 30 crore unorganised workers in just three years, marking a significant step towards ensuring social security for India’s workforce.
