Puja Special trains to run between Sealdah and Khurda Road to meet festive rush

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to accommodate the expected surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming Durga Puja and Diwali festive season, special trains will be operated between Sealdah and Khurda Road on selected dates, railway authorities said.

The additional services are aimed at providing passengers with more travel options and helping manage the anticipated festive rush on the route.

The Sealdah–Khurda Road Special (Train No. 03101) will operate every Saturday on October 17, 24 and 31 and November 7, 14, 21 and 28, 2026.

In the return direction, the Khurda Road–Sealdah Special (Train No. 03102) will run every Sunday on October 18 and 25 and November 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, 2026.

Timings and stoppages

Train No. 03101 will depart Sealdah at 11:50 PM and reach Khurda Road at 8:20 AM the following morning.

The return service, Train No. 03102, will leave Khurda Road at 4:40 PM and arrive at Sealdah at 2 AM the next day.

The special train will halt at Andul, Kharagpur, Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, apart from its originating and terminating stations at Sealdah and Khurda Road.

22-coach special train

The special service will comprise 22 coaches, including:

  • 4 AC 3-Tier coaches
  • 10 Sleeper Class coaches
  • 6 General Class coaches
  • 2 Luggage-cum-Generator-cum-Brake Vans with Divyang-friendly facilities

The additional services are expected to provide greater convenience to passengers travelling during the festive period, when demand for rail services typically rises significantly.

Passengers have been advised to check the latest train schedules and running status before commencing their journey through the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) or official railway enquiry services.
