
New Delhi: Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, engaged in an insightful and motivating interaction with National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers from across India via video conference today. This event aimed to recognize and encourage the youth contributing significantly to community service and nation-building. The interaction is part of a broader initiative by the Union Minister to involve youth in informed decision-making processes. Previously, Dr. Mandaviya had interacted with National Youth Awardees, National Service Scheme Awardees, and volunteers of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS).
Dr. Mandaviya highlighted that the Union Budget 2024-25, presented in Parliament yesterday, is particularly youth-centric. The government has earmarked Rs. 2 Lakh Crore to facilitate employment and skilling for over 4 Crore youth, underscoring its commitment to youth empowerment.
Addressing the volunteers, Dr. Mandaviya lauded the efforts of NSS in fostering social responsibility among the youth. He expressed heartfelt appreciation for the selfless service rendered by NSS volunteers nationwide.
During the interaction, the Union Minister gathered feedback about the My Bharat portal. NSS volunteers shared their experiences regarding their activities and participation in various awareness campaigns and community services. They highlighted that modules like CV builder and experiential learning courses have been particularly beneficial and requested further expansion of such features.
Dr. Mandaviya emphasized that the My Bharat platform serves as a comprehensive hub for youth engagement, offering access to a wide range of services and initiatives. He added that the platform is designed to empower the youth by providing necessary resources and opportunities for meaningful contributions to nation-building and personal growth.
“Our Government is committed to providing the necessary support and resources to nurture the full potential of our youth in our journey towards Viksit Bharat. Every policy being made in the Ministry has kept youth at the center of decision-making,” said Dr. Mandaviya, highlighting the government’s dedication to empowering the youth through various initiatives and programs.
