
Bhubaneswar: Digi Yatra has been launched at Biju Patnaik International Airport. Introduced by the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MOCA) and the Digi Yatra Foundation, this innovative platform marks a major step towards creating a digitally empowered society.
Digi Yatra is designed to revolutionize the travel experience by enabling the automatic digital processing of passengers, thus reducing wait times and making the boarding process faster and more seamless. Utilizing facial recognition technology, Digi Yatra facilitates terminal entry and security clearance, making it a hassle-free and paperless process.
At Biju Patnaik Airport, four departure gates have been equipped with E-Gates for the smooth usage of the Digi Yatra facility. The Passenger Entry and Security Check (PESC) points are also equipped with E-Gates, and all eight boarding gates feature face pods for seamless facial recognition.
Speaking at the launch event, officials highlighted the transformative impact of Digi Yatra on the air travel experience, emphasizing the benefits of faster movement, enhanced security, and a fully contactless journey. The implementation of Digi Yatra at Bhubaneswar Airport is expected to set a benchmark for other airports across the country.
