
Tirupati: Union Minister of Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, virtually addressed the 4th and 5th convocation ceremony of IIT Tirupati, where he extended heartfelt congratulations to the recipients. Additionally, the minister inaugurated the Centre of Excellence (CoE) at IIT Tirupati in collaboration with SIEMENS and Wipro. The CoE focuses on “Smart Manufacturing and EV Technologies” and features seven laboratories dedicated to smart manufacturing, EV manufacturing, smart grid, and more.
Pradhan expressed confidence that the students of IIT Tirupati would evolve into wealth creators, playing a pivotal role in achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat. He lauded the institute’s emphasis on innovation and interdisciplinary research, envisioning its students as catalysts for socio-economic change and contributors to global well-being and humanity’s service.
Established in 2015, the Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati (IIT Tirupati) operates as an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Designated as an Institute of National Importance by the Parliament of India, IIT Tirupati began functioning with the support of its mentoring institute, IIT Madras, in the academic year 2015-16. The institute offers a range of academic programs, including B.Tech, M.Tech, MS, PhD, M.Sc, and a Master of Public Policy (MPP) program introduced in 2022 to meet the increasing demand for policy professionals in India.
