Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Assumes Charge at Ministry of Education

New Delhi: Union Minister for Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, officially assumed charge at the Ministry of Education, Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi.

Expressing his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the trust and confidence placed in him, Minister Pradhan underscored his commitment to advancing the Prime Minister’s vision through innovative policies and initiatives. He emphasized the importance of Prime Minister Modi’s leadership in steering India towards becoming a 21st-century knowledge economy and empowering its people.

Minister Pradhan, accompanied by Ministers of State Jayant Chaudhary and Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, congratulated them on their new roles. He expressed eagerness to collaborate closely with his team to realize the ambitious goals set forth by Prime Minister Modi. Together, they aim to transform India into a global hub of education, skills, innovation, and research.

Hailing from the Sambalpur Parliamentary constituency in Odisha, Minister Pradhan brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Previously, he served as the Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas from 2014. His tenure included stints as Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel, where he made significant contributions to these sectors.

In July 2021, Minister Pradhan assumed the responsibilities of the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. He played a pivotal role in spearheading the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020, introducing several progressive initiatives that have positively reshaped India’s educational landscape.

As Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan is poised to build upon his past achievements and lead the Ministry towards achieving new milestones in education, skill development, and research. His vision includes fostering an environment conducive to learning, innovation, and holistic development, ensuring that India’s educational institutions meet global standards and empower its youth.
