Two Sisters Use Multiplication Table to Spread Message of Caring for Elderly

Bhubaneswar: Two school-going sisters from Odisha have used a multiplication table to deliver a social message on respecting and caring for senior citizens through an awareness video titled ‘20 ka Panikia Re Brudhasrama’ (Old Age Home in the 20 Multiplication Table).

Law, Works and Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan released the video on Friday. The initiative highlights the responsibility of children towards their parents and elders, conveying a message of love, respect and care through a creative presentation of the multiplication table.

The video has been created by Shruti Sulagna, a Class X student of PM Shri Radhamohan Jiu Nodal School, and her younger sister Priti Sulagna, a Class VI student.

Appreciating the initiative, Harichandan said the video was a commendable effort to communicate the importance of caring for senior citizens and fulfilling children’s responsibilities towards them.

“The effort to convey the message of respect, love and care towards senior citizens and the duty of children to the society through multiplication table is commendable,” he said.

The Minister congratulated the two sisters, along with the artists, lyricists and guardians associated with the production. The lyrics have been penned by Dr Sanatan Panda.

He also praised the young performers for their presentation, ideas and commitment to art, culture and society. Expressing hope that such initiatives would encourage a stronger sense of social responsibility among the younger generation, he said the approach could contribute to building a responsible civic culture in the future.
