Bhubaneswar: In a resounding display of support for the ambitious Subhadra Yojana, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida led the ‘Subhadra Swagat Padayatra’ from Unit-III Giridurga Temple to Ramadevi University Square in Bhubaneswar on Sunday. Thousands of women marched alongside the Deputy CM to champion self-reliance and empowerment for women in the state.
The event, designed to raise awareness about the Subhadra Yojana, saw participation from several prominent leaders, including Deputy CM KV Singh Deo, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi, MLA Babu Singh, Bhubaneswar Mayor Sulachana Dash, and other senior BJP figures.
The ‘Subhadra Swagat Padayatra’ is part of a larger, state-wide initiative, with approximately 10,000 padayatras taking place across Odisha. The movement is being led by Anganwadi workers, Self-Help Group (SHG) members, Asha workers, and supervisors to reach grassroots communities and spread the message of women’s empowerment. The awareness drives will continue for a week, aiming to galvanize public support for the Subhadra Yojana.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy CM Pravati Parida emphasized the significance of the scheme, saying, “We have all come together to strengthen the women of our society. The aim of Subhadra Yojana is to make every woman in our state self-independent and self-reliant.”
The Subhadra Yojana, a flagship initiative of the BJP-led government in Odisha, aims to provide women with the tools and opportunities to achieve economic independence. It focuses on education, skills development, and entrepreneurship among women, ensuring they can contribute meaningfully to the state’s economic growth.
