State Vigilance Academy Secures ISO Certification for Third Consecutive Term

Bhubaneswar: Reinforcing its standing as a national leader in anti-corruption training, the State Vigilance Academy (SVA), Bhubaneswar, has been awarded the ISO 9001:2015 certification for the third consecutive time, valid for a three-year period from December 30, 2025, to December 29, 2028. The Academy is the first of its kind among all States in the country dedicated exclusively to anti-corruption training.

The prestigious certification has been granted in recognition of the Academy’s high standards of training on anti-corruption laws, robust institutional framework, and well-developed infrastructure. The achievement reflects the collective efforts, dedication and professionalism of the officers, faculty members and staff of the Academy.

Officials noted that the renewed ISO certification underscores the Academy’s commitment to institutionalising quality, accountability and continuous improvement across all its activities. The recognition is also expected to further enhance public confidence in the Academy and strengthen its position as a premier anti-corruption training institution in India.

The State Vigilance Academy has been operational since November 20, 2018, and has since emerged as a key training hub for officers from All India Services and State Services, including IAS, IPS, IFS, OAS, OPS, OFS, OFoS, OT&AS, OSPS, ORS, OWS, OCS and OES, among others.

During 2025, the Academy trained 949 officers from diverse cadres such as IAS, IPS, OAS, OPS, OFS, Chief Vigilance Officers, OT&AS, Assistant Labour Officers, ORS, Electrical officers, Public Prosecutors and Assistant Public Prosecutors, Drugs Inspectors, Assistant Executive Engineers, Assistant Fisheries Officers, and Vigilance officials. The training covered critical areas including anti-corruption laws, preventive vigilance, good governance and the application of Artificial Intelligence in governance.

Looking ahead, Odisha Vigilance aims to further strengthen the State Vigilance Academy as a repository of knowledge in the fields of anti-corruption, transparency and good governance. Plans are underway to develop the Academy into a platform for niche research and to disseminate evidence-based solutions that can help institutions reinforce preventive vigilance mechanisms, plug systemic leakages and effectively address corruption in governance.
