Bhubaneswar: In an effort to aid communities affected by Cyclone Dana, Reliance Foundation, in partnership with local administration and grassroots organizations, held a Training of Trainers session on public health risk management in Balasore district’s Soro today. Another session was organized earlier this week at Tihidi in Bhadrak district.
The initiative,a conducted in collaboration with the local administration and grassroots organizations, aims to promote vital water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) practices to prevent disease outbreaks in the cyclone-hit areas.
The sessions focused on equipping local trainers with essential knowledge and skills to improve public health resilience within their communities. This proactive approach is part of Reliance Foundation’s broader commitment to building safer, healthier environments and fostering long-term resilience among the affected populations.
Since Cyclone Dana struck, Reliance Foundation has provided critical support to local communities through various measures, including crop protection initiatives, public health campaigns, and on-ground relief. Their efforts have garnered recognition from both the Odisha government and Bhadrak district administration for the impactful work during and after the cyclone.
As part of its relief measures, Reliance Foundation also supplied food essentials to cyclone shelters across affected regions, ensuring immediate support for those displaced by the storm. Working closely with government authorities and civil society organizations, the Foundation has played a key role in helping communities return to normalcy.
Reliance Foundation’s response extended beyond immediate relief, as teams collaborated with local authorities and community volunteers in Bhadrak district to clear roads and disseminate essential public health messages, reinforcing safety precautions in the aftermath of Cyclone Dana.
This comprehensive effort by Reliance Foundation underscores its dedication to standing with the people of Odisha, building preparedness, and promoting recovery in the face of natural disasters.
