Prime Minister Modi Unveils Over Rs 56,000 Crores Worth of Power, Rail, and Road Projects in Telangana
Adilabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated, dedicated to the nation, and laid the foundation stone for a plethora of developmental projects amounting to more than Rs 56,000 crores in Telengana today. The event showcased the government’s commitment to enhancing the power, rail, and road sectors, promoting environmental sustainability, and fostering connectivity.
Speaking at the inauguration, Prime Minister Modi expressed the significance of Adilabad becoming a hub for development projects not only benefitting Telangana but the entire nation. Over 30 projects were unveiled or had their foundation stones laid, focusing on energy, environmental sustainability, and road connectivity in the state.
Highlighting the collaboration between the Central Government and Telangana over the past decade, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of providing comprehensive assistance to realize the dreams of the citizens. Among the projects inaugurated was the 800 MW capacity NTPC Unit 2, a significant addition to Telangana’s electricity generation capacity.
The Prime Minister also spotlighted the completion of the electrification of Ambari – Adilabad – Pimpalkhuti rail lines and the initiation of two major National Highway projects in Adilabad, Bela, and Mulugu. These infrastructural developments are expected to propel the overall development of Telangana, reduce travel time, boost tourism, and create numerous employment opportunities.
Underscoring the mantra of national development through state development, Prime Minister Modi stressed the importance of a robust economy in attracting investment and fostering trust. He cited India’s impressive 8.4 percent growth rate in the last quarter as a global testament to its economic prowess, indicating the nation’s ascent to becoming the world’s third-largest economy.
Reflecting on the transformative governance of the last decade, Prime Minister Modi acknowledged the increased allocation for the development of states and emphasized that development should reach the poorest of the poor, including dalits, tribals, and the underprivileged. He noted the success of government welfare schemes in uplifting over 25 crore people from poverty.
In closing, the Prime Minister pledged to intensify such developmental campaigns over the next five years, underscoring the government’s commitment to inclusive growth.
Present at the ceremony were prominent dignitaries, including Governor of Telangana, Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, Chief Minister of Telangana, Revantha Reddy, and Union Minister, G Kishan Reddy, among others.
In addition to the power sector, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various power projects across the country, promoting the use of advanced technologies and renewable energy sources. The event marked a significant stride towards ensuring a sustainable and energy-efficient future for India.
