Prime Minister Modi Unveils Mega Development Initiatives Worth Rs 17,000 Crores for Madhya Pradesh
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation today, through a virtual event titled ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Madhya Pradesh,’ marking the launch of transformative projects across multiple sectors in Madhya Pradesh. Valued at approximately Rs 17,000 crores, these initiatives aim to accelerate economic growth, enhance infrastructure, and improve the overall quality of life in the state.
The Prime Minister inaugurated irrigation projects exceeding Rs 5500 crores, comprising the Upper Narmada Project, Raghavpur Multipurpose Project, and Basaniya Multipurpose Project. Spanning Dindori, Anuppur, and Mandla districts, these projects are poised to irrigate over 75,000 hectares of agricultural land, subsequently bolstering power supply and drinking water provisions in the region. Additionally, two micro-irrigation projects – the Parasdoh and Aulliya Micro Irrigation projects – were dedicated to the nation, catering to the needs of more than 26,000 hectares of land in Betul and Khandwa districts.
The Prime Minister inaugurated three railway projects with a combined cost of over Rs 2200 crores. These include the third line in Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi – Jakhlaun & Dhaura – Agasod route, gauge conversion project in New Sumaoli-Jora Alapur railway line, and the Powarkheda-Jujharpur rail line flyover. These strategic developments are anticipated to improve rail connectivity and contribute significantly to the socio-economic progress of the region.
In a bid to propel industrial development, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for diverse projects valued at approximately Rs 1000 crores across Madhya Pradesh. These projects include the Mega Leather, Footwear, and Accessories Cluster at Sitapur in Morena district; Plug and Play Park for the garment industry in Indore; Industrial Park Mandsaur (Jaggakhedi Phase-2); and the upgradation of Industrial Park Pithampur in Dhar district.
Projects in the coal sector worth over Rs 1000 crores, including the Jayant OCP CHP Silo, NCL Singrauli, and Dudhichua OCP CHP-Silo, were dedicated to the nation, underscoring the government’s commitment to ensuring a robust and sustainable energy future.
To fortify the power sector, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stones for six substations in Panna, Raisen, Chhindwara, and Narmadapuram districts. These substations are expected to benefit residents and industries in eleven districts, including Bhopal, Vidisha, Sagar, Damoh, and Chhatarpur, among others.
Projects worth Rs 880 crores under AMRUT 2.0 were launched, focusing on augmenting and strengthening water supply systems in various districts. Additionally, the Prime Minister dedicated a project for augmenting water supply in Khargone. The Cyber Tehsil project, implemented in all 55 districts, promises paperless, faceless, and end-to-end online disposal of mutation, providing a single revenue court for the entire Madhya Pradesh.
The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for vital road projects, emphasizing his vision to provide a substantial boost to infrastructure, socioeconomic development, and ease of living in Madhya Pradesh. These collective efforts underscore the commitment of the government to foster holistic growth and prosperity in the state.
