
New Delhi: The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, attended a significant event today (October 22, 2024) to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Bharatiya Adim Jati Sevak Sangh (BAJSS) at the Thakkar Bapa Smarak Sadan.
In her address, the President expressed that her visit to the Smarak Sadan felt like a pilgrimage to a sacred place, paying homage to the legacy of Thakkar Bapa, a prominent figure in the upliftment of tribal communities.
Highlighting the impactful work of the BAJSS, President Murmu emphasized that the organization embodies the ideals of Thakkar Bapa by addressing critical issues such as poverty, illiteracy, and poor health that afflict tribal society. She particularly praised the Sangh’s efforts toward the welfare and empowerment of girls and women, recognizing the vital role they play in community development.
The President conveyed her confidence that the members of the Bharatiya Adim Jati Sevak Sangh will continue to demonstrate their commitment to public service and uphold the principles established by Thakkar Bapa in the years to come. She called upon all associated with the Sangh to maintain their dedication to the betterment of tribal communities and to carry forward the legacy of social service.
