PM Modi Inspects Newly Inaugurated Shivpur-Phulwaria-Lahartara Road in Varanasi

Varanasi: Following a busy day in Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Varanasi and promptly visited the recently inaugurated Shivpur-Phulwaria-Lahartara road at approximately 11 pm on Thursday. The inspection aimed to assess the impact and benefits of the road, which is proving to be a significant asset for approximately 5 lakh residents living in the southern part of the city, including BHU, BLW, etc. It serves as a vital link for those commuting towards the airport, Lucknow, Azamgarh, and Ghazipur.

Built at a cost of Rs 360 crore, the Shivpur-Phulwaria-Lahartara road contributes to alleviating traffic congestion in the region. Notably, it reduces the travel time from BHU to the airport from 75 minutes to 45 minutes, and from Lahartara to Kachahri from 30 minutes to 15 minutes, significantly enhancing connectivity and convenience for the local population.

The successful completion of this project was a result of effective inter-ministerial coordination, involving contributions from both the Railways and Defence sectors. This collaborative effort underscores the government’s commitment to improving the ease of living for the citizens of Varanasi.

Prime Minister Modi shared his thoughts on the project via social media, stating, “Upon landing in Kashi, inspected the Shivpur-Phulwaria-Lahartara Marg. This project was inaugurated recently and has been greatly helpful to people in the southern part of the city.”
