Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s premier weightlifters Jyoshna Sabar and Priteesmita Bhoi have been selected to represent India at the World Youth Weightlifting Championship in Lima, Peru, from May 20 to 27.
Jyoshna Sabar, a trainee at the Odisha Weightlifting High Performance Centre (HPC), has demonstrated exceptional consistency in her performances over the past few years. In January, she clinched gold at the Khelo India Youth Games, setting a national record in the Snatch category. Jyoshna’s remarkable achievements have earned her the title of Best Lifter in the Youth category at consecutive Indian Weightlifting Federation (IWLF) National Championships.
Priteesmita Bhoi, another promising young talent, trains at the Dhenkanal Sub-Centre. She has also been making waves with her impressive performances, consistently catching the eye of selectors and enthusiasts alike.
Jyoshna’s journey in weightlifting has been marked by a series of noteworthy accomplishments.
