
Bhubaneswar: As the countdown to the Paris Olympics 2024 gains momentum, Odisha’s javelin sensation, Kishore Kumar Jena, has begun his rigorous training at the Kalinga Sports Complex in Bhubaneswar. With stellar performances in the previous year, including an Olympic qualification, Kishore aims to make a mark on the global stage and bring laurels to India.
Accompanied by his coach, Samarjeet Singh Mali, Kishore is honing his skills at the state-of-the-art facilities provided by the Kalinga Stadium. Coach Mali expressed satisfaction with the training environment, stating, “The facilities here are very good. The Super Cup is also going on now, so the atmosphere is special here. It creates an environment that fuels Kishore’s determination and commitment.”
Kishore Kumar Jena’s achievements, including a commendable fifth-place finish at the World Athletic Championship and a silver medal at the recent Asian Games, have positioned him as one of India’s leading medal prospects at the upcoming Olympics.
Coach Mali sees these accomplishments as significant indicators of India’s potential success at the Olympics. “With a fifth place at the World Athletic Championship and a silver medal at the Asian Games, Kishore Kumar Jena has given India more hope that we can find success at the Olympics. He is one of our medal prospects, and we are leaving no stone unturned in our preparation.”
The preparations for the Paris Olympics have been intense, with Kishore Kumar Jena showcasing remarkable progress, moving from a distance of 76m to an impressive 87.5m. Emphasizing the commitment to constant improvement, Coach Mali stated, “This progress is a testament to his dedication and the rigorous training regimen we have in place.”
In the pursuit of excellence, Kishore Kumar Jena is set to embark on a crucial phase of his preparation as he heads to Gold Coast, Australia.
