BDA to Adjust ₹10,000 Application Fee Against Flat Cost Under Ekamra Residency Scheme

Bhubaneswar: Applicants who secure flats under the Bhubaneswar Development Authority’s (BDA) Ekamra Residency housing project at Subudhipur will have their ₹10,000 application fee adjusted against the flat cost, while unsuccessful applicants will receive a full refund of their ₹2.1 lakh deposit, the Authority decided at its 153rd meeting on Wednesday.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Housing and Urban Development Minister and BDA Chairman Dr Krushna Chandra Mahapatra. Among those present were Ekamra MLA Babu Singh, Jatni Municipality Chairman Ananta Behera, Housing and Urban Development Additional Chief Secretary Usha Padhee, BDA Vice-Chairman Chanchal Rana and other senior officials.

The Authority also approved several concessions for successful applicants under the housing scheme. These include exemption from Goods and Services Tax (GST) and a five per cent exemption on stamp duty. The flats will be allotted on a freehold basis, with one year of free maintenance. Applications for allotment are currently underway, and the flats are ready for occupation.

Spread over 7.36 acres at Subudhipur, Ekamra Residency comprises three residential towers offering two-bedroom and two-bedroom-plus-study apartments. The project includes earthquake-resistant structures, landscaped open spaces, a swimming pool, gymnasium, community hall, children’s play area and jogging track. Other facilities include a sewage treatment plant, water recharge system, power backup, CCTV surveillance and fire safety systems.

Ten town planning schemes covering 1,815 acres
