Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Friday announced a two per cent hike in dearness allowance (DA) for state government employees and pensioners, increasing the rate from 58 per cent to 60 per cent.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi approved the revision, which will be effective retrospectively from January 1, 2026.
As part of the decision, pensioners will also receive a two per cent increase in temporary increase (TI).
Officials said the revised DA and TI amounts will be paid along with the salary and pension for May, respectively.
The move is expected to benefit nearly 8.5 lakh government employees and pensioners across the state.
The announcement comes as part of the state government’s efforts to provide financial support to employees and retired personnel in view of rising expenses and inflation.
