Odisha Police Launches Cyber Safety Campaign 2023 in Udala

Udala: The Odisha Police is on a mission to educate and empower the public against the perils of cybercrime. In this pursuit, they’ve kicked off the Cyber Safety Campaign 2023, and it’s making its way through the districts. Recently, a special event marked the start of this campaign in Udala, Mayurbhanj’s Kaptipada Sub-Division.

The event drew active participation from school and college students, adding a youthful and energetic dimension to the cause.

The occasion also saw the launch of cyber safety advisory brochures, offering practical tips and guidelines for a secure online experience.

Speaking about this vital initiative, the event coordinator and Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sarthak Ray emphasized the shared responsibility of cyber safety. He invited individuals from the sub-division to actively engage as cyber safety volunteers, playing a pivotal role in raising awareness and knowledge.

Notably, the Sub-Divisional Police Office plans to organize educational dramas and recreational programs on the theme on October 11. Specially designed cyber security campaign vehicles will make stops at public places, including markets, haats, offices, and hamlets, where they will broadcast audio/video messages on cyber safety.

It’s worth mentioning that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the Cyber Safety Campaign on September 30 at Kalinga Stadium. A fleet of 34 Cyber Security Raths will traverse various schools, colleges, and panchayats across the state, fervently spreading the message of cyber safety.

The overarching goal of the Cyber Safety Campaign is to nurture a cyber-safe society and shield individuals from the clutches of cyber fraud, with a dedicated toll-free number, 1930, readily available for immediate assistance in cases of cyber fraud.
