Bhubaneswar: In a move towards greater digital governance and transparency, Law, Works and Excise Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan on Wednesday launched the e-IB online application system for booking inspection bungalows (Dak bungalows) under the Works Department at Lok Seva Bhawan here.
The newly introduced digital platform aims to simplify and streamline the booking and allotment process of inspection bungalows across the State. In the first phase, the system will cover inspection bungalows located in Bhubaneswar, Puri and Konark, with plans to expand the service to other locations in a phased manner.
Speaking at the launch, Minister Harichandan said the e-IB portal would make the booking process more transparent, accountable and user-friendly, while eliminating delays associated with the earlier manual system. He noted that the online platform would benefit both government officials and the general public, ensuring faster and more efficient access to inspection bungalows.
The portal, accessible at https://eibworks.odisha.gov.in/eIB/, enables users to apply, track, and manage bookings online, significantly reducing paperwork and procedural bottlenecks.
The launch event was attended by Works Department Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh, Engineer-in-Chief-cum-Special Secretary Er. Laxmi Kanta Padhi, Engineer-in-Chief (Civil-cum-Roads) Er. Satyabrata Behera, OBCC Managing Director Sameer Hota, Regional Officer, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Sunil Kumar, along with other senior departmental officers.
Officials said the initiative reflects the State government’s commitment to leveraging technology for improved service delivery and efficient public infrastructure management.
