Odisha Govt Welcomes 716 Assistant Section Officers to Strengthen Governance

Bhubaneswar: In a significant boost to the state’s administrative machinery, 716 Assistant Section Officers (ASOs) joined the State Government today. These new recruits will be stationed at the state secretariat in Lok Seva Bhawan, assigned to various departments.

A special orientation program was organized at the Convention Centre, graced by the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Congratulating the ASOs and their families on their success in the recruitment process, the Chief Minister urged the new entrants to adhere to the principles of 5T to enhance efficiency in the transformative governance initiated by the state government.

Explaining the essence of 5T, the Chief Minister highlighted his government’s commitment to transparency, responsibility, and accountability in governance. The dimensions of Teamwork, Technology, and Transparency, blended with the element of Time, are instrumental in bringing about the desired transformation in the lives of the people of Odisha.

Emphasizing the importance of focusing on the state’s flagship programs, Chief Minister Patnaik expressed his expectations that the new ASOs would discharge their duties with dedication and sincerity, contributing to the realization of the vision of a new and empowered Odisha.

Highlighting the educational background of most selected candidates, including B. Tech, M. Tech, or Master’s degrees in various streams, the Chief Minister expressed confidence in their ability to deliver their best in the service of the state.

Minister of State for Home, Tushar Kanti Behera, lauded Odisha’s unique identity and the state’s excellent performance under Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s leadership. He urged the new recruits to work with sincerity, commitment, and absolute transparency.

Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena commended Odisha’s standing as a leading state under the dynamic and visionary leadership of the Chief Minister. He emphasized the inclusive nature of the governance system, where no one is left behind, and the people are at the center of every state program. Congratulating the new recruits, he highlighted that this is the largest contingent of officers joining the government on a single day. He encouraged them to master the knowledge of 5T to deliver their best.

Sharing their experiences, two new ASOs, Soubhagya Chandra Sekhar and Swarna Bharati Nayak, pledged to adhere to the 5T Principles to support the state’s transformative initiatives. The induction of these officers marks a significant stride in reinforcing the governance structure of Odisha.
