Landslide Disrupts Train Services in Rayagada Division; Several Trains Cancelled

Bhubaneswar: Train services in the Rayagada Division of East Coast Railway (ECoR) have been affected following a landslide between Maligura and Chhatariput stations, prompting the cancellation and partial curtailment of several trains.

The changes have been made as a safety precaution and to facilitate restoration work in the affected section. Passengers have been advised to check the status of their trains before starting their journey.

Six trains have been cancelled on September 30 and October 1. These include the Kirandul–Visakhapatnam Passenger (58502), Visakhapatnam–Kirandul Passenger (58501), Kirandul–Visakhapatnam Express (18516), Visakhapatnam–Kirandul Express (18515), Jagdalpur–Rourkela Express (18108) and Rourkela–Jagdalpur Express (18107).

Services short-terminated or short-originated

The Howrah–Jagdalpur Express (18005), which started its journey from Howrah on September 28 and 29, will be short-terminated at Koraput. The Koraput–Jagdalpur portion of the service will remain cancelled.

The Jagdalpur–Howrah Express (18006), scheduled to start from Jagdalpur on September 30 and October 1, will instead originate from Koraput. The service between Jagdalpur and Koraput will remain cancelled.

The Bhubaneswar–Jagdalpur Hirakhand Express (18447), scheduled to depart from Bhubaneswar on September 29 and 30, will be short-terminated at Koraput, with the Koraput–Jagdalpur section cancelled.

Its return service, the Jagdalpur–Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express (18448), scheduled to depart from Jagdalpur on September 30 and October 1, will originate from Koraput. The Jagdalpur–Koraput portion will remain cancelled.

The railway has advised passengers to verify the latest status of their respective trains before commencing their journey and make travel plans accordingly, as restoration work continues in the affected section.
