
Kishore Jena Finishes Ninth in Group A, Fails to Breach Qualification Mark
Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik, has announced a cash prize of Rs 1.5 crore for Kishore Kumar Jena, the state’s exceptional javelin athlete, who secured a silver medal at the ongoing Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. Kishore, boasting a personal best of 87.54m, has also earned qualification for the Paris Olympics.
Kishore’s remarkable achievement not only marks a historic moment for Odisha and India but also brings honour to the entire nation, leaving an indelible mark on the country’s sports history.
Patnaik expressed his admiration, stating, “This award acknowledges his outstanding performance, unwavering dedication, and sheer determination. I extend my heartfelt congratulations for his success at the Asian Games and for securing a spot in the Paris Olympics. Kishore’s triumph serves as a beacon of inspiration for budding athletes nationwide.”
