Odisha Chief Minister Inaugurates 29 Police Stations, Outposts, and SDPO Buildings to Strengthen Law Enforcement

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated 29 new police stations, outposts, and Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) buildings across Odisha. The virtual inauguration marked a milestone in the state’s commitment to creating a secure and citizen-centric environment.

Addressing the occasion, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik emphasized that the upgraded infrastructure and technological support provided to the Odisha Police will enable a more professional and responsive approach in serving the people. The total built-up cost for these initiatives exceeds Rs 53 Crore, representing a concrete step towards realizing the vision of a safer Odisha.

Implemented under the 5T initiatives, these newly inaugurated facilities underscore the state government’s dedication to fostering positive connections between the police and the public, promoting a safer environment. The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the police force and all stakeholders involved in making this vision a reality.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to gender sensitivity and inclusivity, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik stated, “Each building features separate desks for women and children, along with counseling rooms for victims. In Odisha, we stand by the fundamental principle of ‘inclusivity,’ and I am glad that in each of these buildings, ‘accessibility for all’ is ensured with ramps and facilities for persons with disabilities.”

The Chief Minister also emphasized the integration of state-of-the-art facilities like the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) and surveillance cameras. Leveraging technology for efficient and effective law enforcement, these advancements showcase Odisha’s commitment to staying at the forefront of modern policing.

Moderating the program, Kartik Pandian, Chairman of 5T and Nabin Odisha, commended the Odisha Police for sincerely following the Mo Sarkar mandate. He noted positive feedback from various places and expressed expectations for the police administration to adopt a more people-friendly approach.

Minister of State for Home Tushar Kanti Behera, Police DG Arun Kumar Sadangi, and top officials from the home department and police were present at the virtual inauguration event, further demonstrating the collaborative effort to enhance law enforcement capabilities in the state.
