New Delhi: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has launched the 'One Vehicle, One FASTag' initiative to boost the efficiency of the Electronic Toll Collection system and streamline traffic movement at Toll Plazas.
New Delhi: To facilitate hassle-free travel on National Highways and avoid potential penalties, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued guidance to Paytm FASTag users. The advisory recommends users to acquire a new FASTag issued by a different bank before March 15, 2024, aligning with the recent directives from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
Due to the restrictions imposed on Paytm Payments Bank by the RBI, FASTag users associated with Paytm will not be able to recharge or top-up their balances after the specified date. However, users can continue using their existing balance for toll payments even after March 15.
To minimize any inconvenience or double fee charges while commuting on National Highways, NHAI urges Paytm FASTag users to act proactively and obtain a FASTag from an alternative bank. This proactive measure will ensure a smooth travel experience and compliance with the new regulations.
For additional information, NHAI recommends reaching out to the respective banks or referring to the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) available on the Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL) website. NHAI remains committed to enhancing the efficiency of toll transactions and ensuring a seamless travel experience for all users on the country’s extensive network of National Highways.
