NCGG Hosts Training Programme for Cambodian Civil Servants on Public Policy and Governance

New Delhi: The National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG), Mussoorie, commenced the fourth edition of its Training Programme for Civil Servants of Cambodia on Public Policy and Governance today. The two-week-long programme, organized in partnership with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), will run from March 26th to April 6th, 2024.

Attending the programme are 39 officers from Cambodia, serving in various capacities such as Director, Deputy Director, and Chief Office from the Ministry of Inspection and the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports. The sessions will be conducted at Mussoorie and New Delhi, covering a diverse range of topics related to public policy and governance.

The inauguration of the programme saw the presence of Shri V. Srinivas, Director General of NCGG & Secretary of the Department of Administrative Reform and Public Grievances (DARPG). In his address, he highlighted the historical ties between India and Cambodia, underscoring the civilizations’ shared values. He further elaborated on India’s governance model, emphasizing the integration of digital technology to enhance policy-making, service delivery, and institutional transformation.

Speaking on the significance of digitization, the Secretary of DARPG emphasized the necessity of transparent and accountable governance. He shed light on various initiatives such as the Public Grievance Redressal Mechanism, Pensions Welfare, the National E-Governance Service Delivery Assessment (NESDA), and the Khelo India Programme. Encouraging active participation, he urged the officers to collaborate in groups and deliver presentations on key policies and programmes.
