
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Higher Education Department has announced the schedule for Phase-II admission to undergraduate (UG) courses under the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) for the 2026-27 academic session.
The online Common Application Form (CAF) will open on the SAMS UG portal from 4 pm on September 10, with students allowed to submit applications until 11:45 pm on September 20. Applicants can also edit their CAF until the deadline for submission.
The Round-I provisional seat allotment and waitlist will be published at 4 pm on September 23. Seat allotment will be based on vacancies available as of September 20, with allotment for remaining higher-choice higher education institutions (HEIs) made in a 1:30 ratio.
Students selected in the first round will have to report to their allotted institutions after downloading their intimation letters from the SAMS portal. Admission and fee payment will be allowed from 10 am on September 24 to 5 pm on September 26, while institutions will complete document verification and data updation by 9 pm on September 26.
The department will subsequently conduct a Spot Selection Round for eligible waitlisted applicants. Interested candidates will have to physically report at their preferred HEIs with their CAF and required documents between 10 am on September 28 and 2 pm on September 29. A representative with valid identity proof may also report on behalf of a candidate.
The merit list of reported waitlisted applicants will be displayed on the notice board or website of the respective HEIs at 2 pm on October 1. Selected candidates will also be informed through phone or SMS.
Final admission, including document validation and fee collection, will be conducted from 10 am on October 3 to 5 pm on October 5, excluding holidays. If seats remain vacant, waitlisted applicants can continue to report from October 6 to October 7 until 5 pm. Institutions will update admission details on the SAMS e-Space by 9 pm on October 7.
The department has advised students to carefully go through the Phase-II Admission Guidelines and Common Prospectus available on the SAMS UG portal before applying.
