New Delhi: In a significant move towards ensuring safer workplaces for women, Union Minister Annpurna Devi today launched the SHe-Box portal, a centralized platform for registering and monitoring complaints of sexual harassment at the workplace. The portal, unveiled at an event in New Delhi, aims to streamline the redressal process for women across both government and private sectors. Alongside the portal, the Minister also launched a new website for the Ministry of Women and Child Development.
Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Smt. Savitri Thakur, and Secretary Anil Malik, along with other senior officials, were present at the event.
The SHe-Box portal will serve as a repository for information related to Internal Committees (ICs) and Local Committees (LCs) established across the country, ensuring that complaints are handled in a time-bound manner. A designated nodal officer will monitor complaints in real-time, offering women a secure and efficient platform for filing and tracking the progress of their cases.
In her address, Annpurna Devi emphasized the government’s commitment to creating a safe and inclusive work environment for women, stating, “This initiative is a critical step forward in providing a more efficient and secure platform for addressing workplace-related sexual harassment complaints.”
The launch of the SHe-Box portal is part of the government’s broader focus on women-led development, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of achieving “Viksit Bharat” by 2047. This initiative strengthens the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013, which safeguards women from harassment and ensures their grievances are effectively addressed.
The Ministry’s new website, launched during the event, aims to enhance the government’s digital presence, fostering better engagement with citizens on national and global levels.
With the SHe-Box portal now operational, the government reaffirms its dedication to empowering women and fostering a safer, more inclusive working environment.
