Ministry of Coal Surpasses GeM Procurement Target, Achieves Historic Milestone

In a remarkable feat, the Ministry of Coal has surpassed its GeM (Government e-Marketplace) procurement target for the fiscal year 2023-24, reaching an impressive Rs. 63,890 Crore as of February 14, 2024. This outstanding achievement is 300% of the annual target of Rs. 21,325 Crore, positioning the Ministry of Coal at the forefront among all Central Ministries in GeM procurement. Furthermore, Coal India Limited (CIL) has maintained its leading position among all Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs).

The surge in GeM procurement not only underscores the Ministry’s unwavering commitment but also highlights the collaborative efforts and contributions from Coal Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). Their proactive participation has played a pivotal role in steering the success story of GeM procurement, reinforcing their significance as key stakeholders in India’s coal sector.
