Minister of State for Defence & Tourism Visits C-DOT, Emphasizes Collaboration in Telecom and Cybersecurity
New Delhi: Shri Ajay Bhatt, Minister of State for Defence & Tourism, paid a visit to the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) Delhi Campus, a premier Telecom R&D center under the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, Government of India. During his visit, Minister Bhatt emphasized the need for collaboration between C-DOT and Indian Defence forces, particularly in the development of indigenous, secured telecom solutions for critical infrastructure, including defence communications and cybersecurity.
As part of the visit, Minister Ajay Bhatt planted a tree in the C-DOT campus, symbolizing the growth and sustainability of indigenous technology. Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay, CEO of C-DOT, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the organization’s diverse telecom product portfolio and key telecom security solutions. The presentation covered topics such as the Security Operation Centre, Enterprise Security Centre, Quantum Key Distribution, and Post Quantum Cryptography.
The visit included demonstrations of C-DOT’s technological capabilities, showcasing solutions like Video Conferencing, Samvad (an indigenously developed messaging & cell platform), Disaster Management using Common Alert Protocol (CAP), and more. The presentations and demonstrations aimed to highlight C-DOT’s contributions to telecom innovation and its potential role in transforming telecom and cybersecurity in the defence sector.
In his address to C-DOTians, Minister Ajay Bhatt expressed his belief in the significant role telecom plays in defence and envisioned collaboration between C-DOT and the Indian Defence forces. He emphasized the need for C-DOT to actively contribute to defence indigenization and align its research and development with the specific requirements of the defence forces in communication, cybersecurity, and cyber warfare.
Dr. Upadhyay, CEO of C-DOT, thanked the Minister for his guidance and motivation, assuring C-DOT’s commitment to developing state-of-the-art telecom security solutions tailored for the defence sector. Minister Ajay Bhatt commended C-DOT’s contributions to the entire spectrum of telecommunications and highlighted the organization’s role in advancing cutting-edge technologies for civilian and defence use.
Minister Bhatt concluded by expressing optimism about India’s technological advancements by 2047, where C-DOT is expected to play a pivotal role. He praised C-DOT for its service to the nation and wished the organization success in all its future endeavors. The visit underscored the importance of collaboration between government bodies and technology institutions for the development of innovative solutions critical to national security and technological advancement.
