Manu Bhaker and Anish Bhanwala Shine in Olympic Selection Trials

New Delhi: Olympians Manu Bhaker and Anish Bhanwala displayed remarkable consistency as they maintained their strong performances in the ongoing Olympic Selection Trials 1&2, securing top spots in their respective qualification rounds held at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range near New Delhi on Sunday.

In the Women’s 25M Pistol OST T2 qualification, Manu Bhaker showcased her prowess once again, leading the field into the finals with an impressive aggregate score of 585. This achievement comes on the heels of her triumph in the T1 trials held on Saturday. Esha Singh secured the second spot with a commendable score of 581, while Simranpreet Kaur Brar secured third place with 577. Abhidnya Ashok Patil and Rhythm Sangwan rounded up the field with scores of 572 and 566, respectively.

Meanwhile, in the Men’s 25M Rapid-Fire Pistol (RFP) OST T2, Anish Bhanwala continued his dominance, topping the qualification round with a stellar score of 582. Joining him at the top was fellow Paris quota-holder Vijayveer Sidhu, who secured the second spot with a score of 580. Bhavesh Shekhawat closely followed in third place, also with a score of 580 but with fewer inner 10s.

With their consistent performances, Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh, Anish Bhanwala, and Vijayveer Sidhu are emerging as strong contenders to represent India in the upcoming Paris Olympics.

All eyes are now set on the finals, scheduled for Monday, where the podium points will be crucial in determining the final selections for the prestigious Olympic Games.
