Manoj Ahuja Appointed as New Chief Secretary of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Senior IAS officer Manoj Ahuja has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Odisha. The announcement was made on Friday by the General Administration & Public Grievance Department of Odisha.

“On repatriation from Government of India, Manoj Ahuja, IAS (RR-1990) is appointed as Chief Secretary, Odisha, and Secretary to Government, General Administration, and Public Grievance Department consequent upon the retirement of Pradeep Kumar Jena, IAS w.e.f. 30.06.2024(AN),” read the official notification.

The incumbent Chief Secretary, Pradeep Jena, who received a six-month extension, will retire on June 30.

Before his repatriation to the parent cadre at the request of the Odisha government, Ahuja served as the Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. He has held several key positions, including joint director (Personnel Training/Personnel & General Administration) at the Centre and Commissioner-cum-Secretary in the Steel and Mines and Sports and Youth Services departments in Odisha. Additionally, Ahuja has served as the Chairman of the Central Board of Secondary Education, Ministry of Education.
