
New Delhi: Lieutenant General JS Sidana has assumed the role of the 33rd Director General of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (DGEME) and Senior Colonel Commandant of the Corps of EME, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his illustrious military career.
With over 38 years of dedicated service to the nation, Lieutenant General JS Sidana brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role. Prior to his appointment as DGEME, he served as the Commandant of the Military College of EME for a duration of two years, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic vision.
During his distinguished career, Lieutenant General JS Sidana has held a variety of significant regimental, command, instructional, and staff appointments, showcasing his versatility and commitment to excellence. His tenure as the Major General of EME at HQ Central Command and his command of the Army Base Workshop & EME Centre have been marked by outstanding performance and unwavering dedication to duty.
An alumnus of the prestigious National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, Lieutenant General JS Sidana was commissioned into the Corps of EME from the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, on December 14, 1985. His academic credentials include a Masters in Management Studies from Osmania University, M. Tech from IIT Kanpur, and a Master of Philosophy from Punjab University.
Upon assuming the role of DGEME, Lieutenant General JS Sidana has emphasized the importance of leveraging technology and innovation to enhance the engineering capabilities of the Indian Army. He has called upon all ranks of the Corps to embrace the power of technology and innovation to deliver effective engineering support to the armed forces, further strengthening the nation’s defense infrastructure.
In a poignant tribute to the valiant soldiers of the Corps, Lieutenant General JS Sidana laid a wreath at the National War Memorial in New Delhi, honoring the sacrifices made by the bravehearts in service of the nation.
