Launch of Nabin Odisha Magic Card’s Online Registration Portal Set for Tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: In a groundbreaking initiative to empower the youth, the Odisha government is set to launch the online registration portal for the Nabin Odisha Magic Card tomorrow. The Nabin Odisha Magic Card is a futuristic points-based smart card designed to engage and empower the youth, fostering academic development, personality growth, skill enhancement, and employment opportunities.

The card aims to serve as a catalyst for the aspirations and dreams of the youth by providing both physical and digital access to resources crucial for their career and personality development. Termed as the “Passport to Prosperity,” the card operates on a points system and will be upgraded to Silver, Gold, and Platinum levels based on the student’s performance across various parameters.

Allocation and upgrades of the Nabin Odisha Magic Card will be determined by factors such as attendance, discipline, academic performance, participation in extracurricular activities, sports, online courses, and personality development programs. The innovative points-system will recognize and value every aspect of a student’s involvement, including academic achievements, creativity, sports accomplishments, and community service.

The card will offer access to a myriad of facilities, including concessions on transportation, access to phone/data recharge and Wi-Fi, e-libraries, online academic courses, personality development workshops, coaching centers, skill development courses, career counseling, language courses (including Odia and English), “Earn While You Learn” opportunities, volunteering opportunities, access to stadiums during national and international tournaments, access to journals and seminars, and entry to tourist places and museums.

Moreover, the Nabin Odisha Magic Card will play a crucial role in providing job and placement opportunities by sharing student data with potential recruiting companies. It will function as a LinkedIn-type platform for students to interact with the industry, and integration with the startup ecosystem will encourage entrepreneurial aspirations among students. Additionally, the state government plans to collaborate with the private sector to enhance the benefits available through these smart cards.

Chairman of 5T & Nabin Odisha, Kartik Pandian, highlighted that further inputs would be sought from students and teachers to incorporate various activities into this innovative points-system. The distribution of the Nabin Odisha Magic Card is scheduled to commence on August 15th, marking a significant leap towards a technology-driven and revolutionary concept for youth engagement and empowerment in Odisha.
