Krushi Odisha To Start from Jan 3, Paving A Way for Sustainable Agriculture

Bhubaneswar: The Department of Agriculture & Farmers Empowerment, Government of Odisha, is set to host “Krushi Odisha 2025,” a three-day flagship agricultural event from January 3 to 5 at the Biju Patnaik Playground, Baramunda, Bhubaneswar. This highly anticipated event will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, with Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, along with other dignitaries, in attendance.

With the theme “A Step Towards Sustainable Food Systems,” this year’s Krushi Odisha will highlight three critical aspects of sustainable agriculture: Climate Smart Agriculture, Organic Farming, and Water Governance. Each day of the event will focus on a specific sub-theme, including Climate Resilient Food Systems, Soil Health and Natural Farming, and Sustainable Water Governance under the Pani Panchayat initiative.

The initiative reflects Odisha’s commitment to building sustainable agricultural practices that promote local economies, improve environmental health, and enhance food security. The event aims to attract a diverse audience of over 10,000 participants, including farmers, self-help groups, farmer-producer organizations, NGOs, agri-entrepreneurs, exporters, students, and researchers from across the state.

The program will feature technical sessions involving collaborations with state and central government agencies, ICAR and CGIAR institutes, and non-governmental organizations. It will also include farmer-scientist interactions, seminars, and experiential learning opportunities designed to bridge the gap between traditional knowledge and modern agricultural technology. More than 200 stalls will showcase innovative farming practices, advanced machinery, and agricultural produce, offering participants a chance to explore cutting-edge advancements in the sector.

In addition to its technical focus, Krushi Odisha 2025 aims to engage participants through quizzes, storytelling sessions, skits, and debates. A virtual experience zone, a farmer facilitation center, and an experiential learning hub will be central to the event, fostering deeper interaction and learning among attendees.

The event will also honor progressive farmers, agri-entrepreneurs, and SHGs/FPOs from across Odisha who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to the agricultural sector. These individuals and groups will be celebrated for their innovative and sustainable farming practices, serving as role models for others in the field.

Krushi Odisha 2025 is poised to be a significant milestone in Odisha’s agricultural journey, offering a platform to explore sustainable solutions, celebrate innovation, and unlock the vast potential of the state’s farming community.
