Port Stanley: Indian Naval Sailing Vessel (INSV) Tarini successfully entered Port Stanley at 0515 IST on 18th February 2025, completing the third and most challenging phase of Navika Sagar Parikrama II, a pioneering expedition that showcases the resilience, courage, and skill of the Indian Navy’s women officers. This milestone marks a significant achievement in the vessel’s ongoing journey to circumnavigate the globe.
During this phase, INSV Tarini encountered extreme weather conditions, including three cyclones, while navigating through the treacherous waters of the Drake Passage and crossing Cape Horn. The crew also passed through Point Nemo, known as the Oceanic Pole of Inaccessibility, adding another layer of challenge to their voyage. Despite these formidable obstacles, the crew’s determination and skill ensured the successful completion of this critical leg of the expedition.
The Navika Sagar Parikrama II initiative underscores the Indian Navy’s commitment to gender empowerment and maritime excellence.
