
Bhubaneswar: India’s top-seeded badminton pair, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, have secured a spot in the Thailand Open final after a decisive victory over Lu Ming-Che and Tang Kai-Wei of Chinese Taipei. The Indian duo triumphed with a score of 21-11, 21-12.
Despite facing some challenges in the second game, Rankireddy and Shetty maintained control and wrapped up the match in just 35 minutes. The Taiwanese pair initially seemed to have an edge in the second game, but the Indian team rallied impressively, securing a 17-10 lead with seven consecutive game points to clinch the match.
In the final, Rankireddy and Shetty will face China’s Chen Bo Yang and Liu Yi. Additionally, in the women’s doubles semifinal, Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa will compete against Thailand’s Jongkolphan Kititharakul and Rawinda Prajongjai, aiming to make their mark in the tournament.
